Motorcycle Training Courses – From CBT to Full Licence

Whether you're just starting out or ready to ride a big bike, we offer motorcycle training courses for every level—from CBT to full A licence.

🧠 CBT – Compulsory Basic Training

Ideal for beginners, CBT allows you to ride:

  • 50cc mopeds at age 16

  • 125cc motorcycles at age 17+

CBT is required before progressing to any full licence category.

📋 Licence Categories Explained

To ride a motorcycle in the UK, there are several licence categories based on age and bike type. At age 16, the AM licence allows you to ride a 50cc moped with L plates after completing CBT and passing the theory test. At 17, the A1 licence lets you ride a 125cc bike, carry passengers, and travel on all roads. At 19, the A2 licence permits riding larger motorcycles between 33 and 46.6 bhp, provided the bike isn’t restricted by more than 50% of its original power. Finally, at age 24 or over, the A licence—also known as Direct Access Scheme (DAS)—grants full access to any motorcycle with no restrictions, following CBT and theory test completion.

🏁 Direct Access Scheme (DAS)

The Direct Access Scheme is the fastest route to a full motorcycle licence. Train and test on a 650cc bike, and once passed, you can ride any motorbike without restrictions.
